Our client purchased a beautiful waterfront lot in a private subdivision on Kiawah Island and constructed his dream home. No expense was spared in the design and construction of the home. The best finishes and materials were used. A highly touted developer, architect, and general contractor team were part of the package when purchasing the lot. The top dollar was paid, and the expectation was that the very best construction practices would be used.
Unfortunately, the end product was far from what was paid for. The general contractor was largely absent and used multiple layers of sub-contractors on the project. There were significant defects throughout the home causing multiple water leaks. All of the highly touted building team tried to run from or ignore the problems.
With our client’s help, we got to work. We hired the best experts and spent the time and resources to show that the best construction practices were not followed. We showed that there were multiple code violations and industry practices were not followed. We relentlessly investigated other similar cases by this same building team. As a result of this hard work, we were able to get this case resolved and the client could pay to get his house remediated.
